Required Accessoires
Power supply
Snowball can be supplied with power through:
- 5 volt power supply with 5.5x2.1mm barrel jack
- USB cable with a Mini-B connector, connected to the USB OTG port
- An optional battery (such as : http://www.giga-concept.fr/media/uploads/products/documents/2008/09/9100.pdf )
Serial Console
Serial console is provided through a USB serial port.
- A USB cable with a Mini-B connector is required.
Software Updates (Flashing)
Software updates can be flashed to the internal memory of the board through the USB On-The-Go port.
- A USB cable with a Mini-B connector is required.
Optional Accessoires
Memory Cards
For development using a memory card is often much more convenient than flashing the board.
- Snowball supports the microSD card format.
Video output
For video output, Snowball supports HDMI, DVI-D and SVGA standards.
- For HDMI displays you need a cable with HDMI type A connector
- For DVI-D monitors you will need an HDMI type A to DVI-D adapter
- For S-Video, you will need an composite video cable with RCA connector
Audio output
For audio output, Snowball supports HDMI audio and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
- For HDMI audio you need a a cable with HDMI type A connector
- For using audio-out, any regular headphones with 3.5mm connector should work.
USB devices
Snowball has a USB On-The-Go port for connecting USB peripherials (like mouse and keyboard) to the board.
- For the board to act as a host for the peripherials, they must be connected through a USB cable with a Mini-A connector. For connecting a single device, a Mini-A to Standard-A (female) adapter is needed.
- It is possible to connect multiple devices through a USB hub which is connected to the board with a Mini-A adapter.
