Barebox

Barebox (formerly known as u-boot-v2) is a bootloader that inherits the best of U-Boot and the Linux kernel: The size and look-and-feel of u-boot, with driver model and lots of design concepts from the kernel.

Buildroot

Buildroot Buildroot is a set of Makefiles and patches that makes it easy to generate a complete embedded Linux system. Buildroot can generate any or all of a cross-compilation toolchain, a root filesystem, a kernel image and a bootloader image. Buildroot is useful mainly for people working with small or embedded systems, using various CPU architectures (x86, ARM, MIPS, PowerPC, etc.) : it automates the building process of your embedded system and eases the cross-compilation process.

The first patch serie submitted on the buildroot ML allows the user to build u-boot, the linux kernel and a root filesystem for the snowball board.

Firefox OS on Snowball

Firefox OS (early named as Boot to Gecko (B2G)) is a standalone mobile operating system for the Web. The goal of this project is to make Firefox OS run on the Snowball from a Micro SD memory card.

GeeXboX

GeeXboX is a free and Open Source Media-Center purposed Linux distribution for embedded devices and desktop computers. This project is now ported on A9500 platform thanks to Linaro and Snowball.

Mer & Nemo Mobile on Snowball

Running Mer and Nemo Mobile on Snowball.

MPEG Dash Client

This project hosts some Android stagefright module extensions developed in order to support natively MPEG Dash (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) video streaming technology on top of Snowball allowing also streaming adaptation during live streaming.

Sailfish OS on Snowball

The newly announced Sailfish OS, built upon Mer core OS and Nemo UI, and supported by ST-Ericsson.
